so, i don’t wanna brag and say that people fly to chicago from all around the world so we can take their photos… but wanyun&andy DID come all the way from singapore for their engagement session.these two are some of the coolest people we have EVER met. they both went to university of chicago where they met and started dating. after graduation they moved back to singapore, where they live now. we are so incredibly honored that they chose us to take their engagement photos while they were here on their trip!

since this was their first trip back in about 5 years, they had looooots of ideas on where and what to shoot. we had more than a few outfit changes (5, to be exact) and went to a ton of locations – all around the university of chicago campus in hyde park, the restaurant where they had their first date, the apartments they used to live in, millennium park, state street, navy pier… it was EPIC. (and this time, i can honestly say that i mean that 1000%!) wanyun even brought a wedding gown so we could take bridal photos as well!

wanyun&andy – it was wonderful getting to know you guys. you’re such a beautiful couple! good luck with all the wedding plans.(and thank you so much for pineapple tarts. we’re officially addicted!)

allison&kenny|engaged // lincoln park, chicago

interwebs, can i admit something to you? promise to keep it between us? i’m horribly unfashionable. my typical uniform at home consists of yoga and/or sweatpants and t-shirts. in fact, if it wasn’t for pinterest, i would seriously question my ability to dress myself.which is why i’m so jealous of super-fashionable clients like allison&kenny. don’t these two just look fabulous together? one day i will be this cute!!

allison&kenny had some GREAT ideas for their engagement session. we started at allison’s old apartment where she lived when she and kenny first started dating. they even brought an adorable ampersand prop! *love* for the second half of the session we went to the ever gorgeous south pond in lincoln park. it’s all about making it personal, people! we can’t wait for their august wedding!

haven’t done this in awhile! this was my view.

stephanie&mike|engaged // milton olive park, chicago

no, your eyes aren’t playing tricks on you. we have another stephanie&mike getting married this year! if tradition holds out, that means this will be one gorgeous wedding! for their engagement photos, we hung out around the milton olive park, which between you and me is one of my absolute favorite places in the city to get the chicago skyline in the background. it really feels like the city is just enveloping you when you’re there. after the park we headed up to the lincoln park zoo to get some super adorable stuff around the south pond pavillion.

they’re planning a june wedding at the w hotel and we can’t wait to see how fabulous it will be!

heather&joe|engaged // downtown, bartlett

so don’t get me wrong – we LOVE getting to go to chicago for engagement sessions. but i’m super happy that we got to shoot a session in downtown bartlett! one, because it’s a really cute downtown area. two, because it’s tony’s hometown! we met up heather&joe at the park and just took a nice leisurely stroll towards the train station. we stopped at jc’s mexican restaurant and had some margaritas on their patio. (fitting, because both heather&joe are bartenders!) then we headed to the charmingly rustic backdrop of banbury fair! if you love ice cream, antiquing, or bunnies (or all three!), you should definitely check this place out!

can’t wait for heather&joe’s wedding in just a few weeks!
