the velotts|portraits {redux}

they’re baaaaaccckkk! while we were in philadelphia shooting priscilla&mike’s wedding, we took a little detour down to delaware to hang out with some family and friends. so of course that means we had to hang out with the velotts while we were there!

this time we went down to rehoboth beach in southern delaware and walked around the boardwalk for awhile. after that, we went to our secret spot for some awesome surf shots. we’d tell you where it is, but then we’d have to kill you. and of course, what’s a delaware session without the impending threat of rain? this time, the skies really did open up, but kayleigh and erin didn’t mind. we just ran around in the rain for a little while. all in all, it was a pretty fantastic session! thanks for hanging out with us guys!!

the d family|portraits

seriously, how cute is this?

we wanted to get a few photos that included their dog, snowball. as you can see, he’s not very big on sitting still.

but we got one!

little j insisted she decorate her shoes with bows. i love her.

see! every once in awhile, we sneak in a traditional family portrait. hehe.

they’re baaaaaaack! we did a VERY quick mini-holiday session with my aunt and uncle and my flipping adorable cousins the other day. this is the first time we got to take photos with their new baby dog, snowball! snowball was big j’s and little j’s christmas present last year, and he has definitely taken this family by storm.

we’re having a blast in delaware, and can’t wait for our wedding this weekend! make sure you guys become our facebook fan! you’ll be helping feed lots of families this holiday season!

the mcrobies|portraits

this one is going to be a huge canvas at my mommy’s house!

how is it that my sisters got great curly hair and mine is stick straight? can someone explain that?

i figured we’d share some of my family photos we took the last time we were in delaware with you all. my dad is shipping off to afghanistan with the air national guard pretty soon, so we figured we’d take some new epic family pics before he left. i happen to think they turned out pretty well, don’t you think?

most of the credit for these goes to tony, since obviously i’m in most of the photos. (duh!) and let me tell you it is WEIRD being on the other side of the camera. a lot of people think that we must be great at getting our pictures taken since we take pictures for a living. WRONG! anytime someone points a camera my way, i still run screaming in the other direction. i’m much better at pressing the shutter than at hamming it up for the camera. tony was great though, and made sure we got some fantastic shots. (it takes a very firm hand to keep this tribe in line. hehe.)

so everyone say a little prayer for my daddy that he comes back to us safe and sound!

and on a side note, if anyone in delaware is looking for a gorgeous lab puppy to add to their family, give us a shout. my grandpa’s pure bred lab, sadie, just had a whole litter and they are adorable! here’s a photo of them at one week. (they’re a whole lot older now. :P)

the marts|portraits

disclaimer: brace yourselves. there is some MAJOR cuteness in this post. it may induce numerous ‘oohs’ and ‘awws.’ proceed at your own risk!

this is henry. he’s one of the cutest babies in the whole world. because i said so!

this is henry’s mom and dad, lindsey and john. now you can see where he gets it.

henry could care less about us. he liked to watch the birds… the cars… the buildings… pretty much everything.

he’s so determined! go henry!

then it was time for navy pier.

i know these next two are super similar, but i love both of them equally!!

we had the absolute pleasure of taking photos of the mart family a few weekends ago. it was even cooler because lindsey is a super awesome photographer in milwaukee. we both frequent the same photography forum, which is how we hooked up for this session. the marts were taking a weekend getaway in chicago and really wanted some family photos now that henry just turned the big 0-1.

as you all know, i have a huge weakness for babies. especially babies with lots of personality and GORGEOUS EYES! so henry was pretty much the perfect subject for me. and to make it even more perfect, we did the whole shoot at and around navy pier. (coolest location for a family shoot? i think so!)

lindsey&john - thanks so much for letting us take your photos! you are such a beautiful family and you made our jobs soooo easy.
