whew, so we FINALLY had a free second to post this super fun engagement session. we met with jessie&brian in downtown st. charles, and had an absolute BLAST walking around. downtown st. charles has all these great little alleys and bars and parking lots that just make for great backdrops. aannnddd we found the COOLEST covered bridge of all time.

there was quite a bit of squee-ing and dancing during this session because the light was just amazing the ENTIRE time. as we were walking towards the bridge we passed by the alleyway in the fifth shot and both tony and i just gasped. i’m sure jessie and brian thought we were out of our minds! but i’d like to think that we weren’t as crazy as we appeared.

chongmi has the most gorgeous hair ever. ever!

ok, i’ll admit i have a TON of favorites from this shoot. but i think these two are my FAVORITE favorites.

yet ANOTHER amazingly awesome session at cantigny park. i swear, if they would let me pitch a tent and live there, i probably would. chongmi&jimmy are absolutely gorgeous (as if you couldn’t tell), and they were a total dream to photograph. they were all for our goofy ideas and silly directions and completely rocked it out. we absolutely can’t wait for their wedding on the 12th!

we got soooo lucky with the weather on this one. after weeks of crazy heat, we got a beautiful, cool 70 degree day. and even though the clouds looked ominous, they did us a huge favor and waited until the second we were done before it started to downpour. either way, it made for optimal shooting conditions!

emilie&ross|engaged

sometimes a dark, stormy day just makes for a cool background!

proof that we do take photos to make mom happy! but seriously, how adorable are they?!

ladies and gents, i’d like to introduce to you our fabulous free engagement session winners - emilie&ross!! and i promise you, they are indeed as awesome as they look. tony and i were a wee bit nervous considering this was our first official chicago engagement session, but it went off without a hitch! (although there was a little bit of rain. ) we hung around lincoln park and the nature museum, which provided some of the most stunning backgrounds we’ve yet to shoot around. even with big, gray, looming storm clouds, i was a very happy camper! er… photographer.

and besides being completely gorgeous and adorable together, emilie and ross are one of the coolest couples we’ve had the pleasure of working with. how cool, you ask? so cool they’re getting married at the batman mansion. yeah. beat that!

so here’s a big thank you to emilie and ross for entering our contest, and making our first splash into chicagoland photography such an awesome one!
