so we’ve been getting a bunch of new albums in for our fantastic clients, and we couldn’t help but stop and take a whole mess of pictures of them!

for those of you who aren’t in the know, KISS wedding albums are our standard wedding album. these guys are amazing. SERIOUSLY. every time we get a new album in, it takes all our will power to actually send them to our clients and not keep them for ourselves.

let us elaborate on a few points of awesomeness:

• KISS albums come in both leather and linen covers. the leather albums are super sturdy and have a 2mm substrate in between every page. linen albums are thinner and sleeker and don’t have the extra substrate between the pages.
• both styles of albums have absolutely NO gutter down the center of the album. that means they can print full bleed, and you won’t lose a single millimeter of photo!
• the print quality is simply gorgeous.
• they keep it simple. and we like that.

we like to make our albums super sexy, and dress them up nice and pretty when they arrive! KISS also provides a
beautiful fabric bag to keep your album nice and pristine!

whew! so we took a little break to move my siblings into columbia college this past week. but we’re back!! and so excited for all the things we have to show you!

first up is the fabulous antje&kurt and their amazing, international wedding spectacular at architectural artifacts in ravenswood. these two had wedding guests flying in from germany, australia, south africa, france - and those are just the places i remember! but it definitely says a lot about your awesomeness when so many people will travel halfway across the world to see your wedding.

we had so much fun with these guys!! from the ceremony (which was totally auf deutsch!), to the food, to the dancing, to the decor, to the spontaneous lumberjacking - there was never a dull second. antje’s maid of honor even made her a traditional german wedding newspaper filled with photos and interviews with their friends. and the best part was i got to try out some of my rusty college german and decipher the articles!

antje&kurt - vielen dank für haben wir an ihren hochzeit! viel glück in alles!! (und entschuldigung für meine schreckliche grammatik. :P)

where else in chicago can you get married in front of greek columns?

alright, here’s the deal: navy pier is the shizz. it doesn’t matter if you are only in chicago for the day and have your heart set on seeing the big sights (millennium park, willis tower, mag mile, etc.), or if you are a native chicagoan and detest the thought of walking around any place that might be construed as “tourist.” go to navy pier. right now. grab whoever happens to be closest to you at this very moment, bring a few bucks for a tasty treat (or don’t! walking around and seeing a lot of the stuff doesn’t cost a dime) and you will have a truly great time.

we say this, because we went to navy pier for the engagement session of the very awesome jen&frank. now, we have been there before (both to shoot sessions and for the heck of it), but we have never really taken it all in and really appreciated the charm of the place the way we did this trip. there are so many great places to shoot, we both feel like we could have kept going for hours. jen&frank looked fantastic, were up for anything, and were so fun together. the place can be so incredibly romantic that it makes taking photos there a dream. imagine this: jen&frank walking hand and hand down the crowded pier through the sounds of jugglers performing and families laughing. The smells of churros, cinnamon-roasted nuts, and gourmet popcorn are in the air - the stunning chicago skyline is twinkling in the background. are you kidding me?! we have the best job ever.

P.S. one of our good friends matt is going to be sailing a tallship he crews, the europa, into navy pier for five days of festivities starting 8/24. matt is one heck of a photographer, and has been voyaging from peru through the panama canal, up the eastern seaboard, and through the great lakes to get to chicago. we can’t wait to see his new stuff!
