New York, NY

So a few weeks ago, our awesome friend Liz came up from D.C. to visit. We were super excited because we haven’t seen her since we were all in Italy together three years ago. Go figure that’s when Tony decides to catch my cold and be sick all weekend, so he didn’t actually get to hang out with us. Too bad for him because Liz and I had a blast wandering through Chinatown and Little Italy and scoring some free sangrias along the way. Mind you, it was over 100 degrees that day thanks to 80% humidity. So maybe Tony had the right idea after all… :P

We also have quite a knack for finding ourselves in awkward positions. We thought we were awesome for finding some really cool textured backgrounds to shoot against, when lo and behold, we were actually outside the Manhattan Correctional Facility. We had no idea until the gate opened and two cops drag a guy in who’s handcuffed and looking a little worse for wear. At least his last sight as a free man was Liz flashing a bit of leg! Lucky guy! :)

In all seriousness, we had a great time. I’ve been bugging her to come visit for awhile, and getting to hang out AND shoot some awesome pictures made my weekend. Liz come back I miss you!!

CRHS Graduation

After the graduation we headed down to the beach for a cookout…

This is what a deserted beach looks like minutes after a violent storm. Breathtaking.

And of course what would a trip to the beach be without collecting some seashells?

Camden, DE

So I’m a little bit behind on blogging, but I wanted to share some fun images we had from my sister’s graduation a few weeks back. It poured on both my high school AND college graduations, so I have to say I’m pretty jealous that the morning was so gorgeous and they got to hold the ceremony outdoors. Of course about an hour after the ceremony all hell breaks loose over the state of Delaware and there were torrential downpours for hours. We came very close to canceling my sister’s party down at the beach, and then at the last minute we said oh what the heck. So even though we spent an hour or two in the rain, it was so worth it once the weather cleared. And let me just say hamburgers and s’mores just taste better when you’re soaked to the bone and covered in sand!

I just love the body language in this one! Totally Gina’s favorite. :)

These two were all about making out in some sand.

More on this one in a second ;)

Delaware Sea Shore, DE

Wow, where do I start with these two? First comes the “it’s a small world” story. A few weeks ago Marjorie emailed us about being their wedding photographers. As I’m typing up a response, I’m staring at her name with a serious “I know this girl from somewhere” feeling. Turns out we do know each other! Marjorie and I went to the same elementary school years and years ago. Now - I know what you’re thinking. “Gina, when you’re from a small state like Delaware, that’s not that surprising.” Ok smarty pants, now let me tell you that the school we went to had less than 100 kids attending. Yeah, pretty impressive right?

Now, let me tell you about how lucky these two are. We were supposed to meet up last Saturday at the beach for their engagement session. Well Tony and I get down there for my sister’s graduation party a few hours early (pics from that coming soon!) and it’s pouring. We go back and forth for awhile as to whether we should call Marjorie and Kyle and cancel when it looks like there’s going to be a break in the weather. So we decide to go for it. Of course, as soon as we make a decision it starts pouring again!

My family starts a mutiny and threaten to leave us there, while we’re begging everyone to stay. Lo and behold, the second Marjorie and Kyle pull into the parking lot the sun comes out. Not only did we suddenly have GORGEOUS session weather, but the beach was COMPLETELY deserted. This session was so much fun because the two of them were up for absolutely anything. Check back in early September for pics of their wedding at where else? The beach!

I swear, they volunteered for this! :)
