yeah, that’s the chicago skyline. no, we’re not telling where we were. because then we’d have to kill you.

interwebs, i’m sorry. it’s not that i’m lazy, i swear. it’s this weather! i wake up, and it’s so icky, and i just roll over in bed. it’s not my fault!

but FINALLY, last week we had a decent day outside and we got to hang out with the awesomeness that is tina&charlie. their wedding isn’t until next september, and already they rank as one of our coolest 2010 couples! they are so adorably in love it makes my heart melt. i know i’m going to cry like a baby at their wedding. (ok, so i cry like a baby at most weddings, but that’s besides the point. )

funny side note: since this shoot was on one of only TWO sunny days we’ve had this month (blogworld, how i wish i was joking), every photographer and their brother were out shooting engagement sessions this day. at one point, i counted 6 couples within arm’s reach of us. needless to say, all the other photographers were jealous because we had the hottest couple there. so here’s to tina&charlie for rocking it out!

jessie’s gorgeous demetrios dress.

i’m sorry this wedding was so awesomely in-your-face. uh, wait a second. no i’m not! we could not have asked for a cooler, funkier, awesomer (yes, i went there) wedding party than jessie and brian’s. this wedding was just fun from beginning to end. from dancing down the aisle to the awesome candy bar, we had a great time. (note to future brides: cake and candy are all it takes to make gina a happy photographer. just sayin’.)

so the ceremony took place at the iron horse hotel in downtown milwaukee. it’s such a cool, unique location! they have couches outside. COUCHES! then afterward we headed a few blocks over to the cuvee for their rockin’ reception. in the words of jim rome it was PHE-NOMENAL.

jessie&brian - thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for choosing us to be your photographers. you guys are fabulous and we can’t wait to hang out with you guys again!

(ok really we’re behind a few weeks… but who’s counting, right?)

1. smitten kitchen

this week i discovered the wonder that is smitten kitchen. blog world, i kid you not, i spent over 4 hours drooling over this site. it is phenomenal.

most people that know us, know that tony is the cook. not me. (for VERY good reasons.) but boy do i love to eat. and more than that, i love pretty pictures of food. this blog is like food porn for me. it’s an addiction, and i just can’t tear myself away. i’m convinced that we’re going to throw all sorts of fancy dinner parties for our friends serving things like short ribs bourguignon and grasshopper brownies. the woman even has a recipe for homemade marshmallows. (yes, you read that right. HOMEMADE marshmallows.)

so if you like making food… or eating food… or just looking at pictures of really good food that you’ll probably never make correctly (aka, me), take a few minutes hours and check out this blog.

2. holiday cards!

um yeah, so i woke up the other day and had a “holy-crap-it’s-already-october-what-the-heck-happened-to-the-year?!” moment. i’m sure you’ve had it too. and while the thought of cold already pains me on the inside, we’re starting to offer holiday sessions! (which are pretty awesome.) they come with a huge discount on some really nifty, custom printed holiday cards. you can check out the deets on our promotions page.

and not to worry! if you’ve already had a session this year, we’ll be having a huge holiday card sale in november. we wouldn’t forget about you guys.

3. photos of photos!

the fabulous linda sent us a photo of her new staircase photo arrangement of - you guessed it - their awesome family photos! i gotta say linda, i LOVE what you’ve done with the place. thanks for offering up some inspiration!

one year ago today i married my best friend in the whole wide world. he’s the most thoughtful, caring, wonderful, loving, awesome person i’ve ever met, ever. in fact, most days i wonder why he ever married me. really, he could have done so much better.

and i finally realized what an awful, horrible person that i’ve been that i haven’t posted any of our wedding photos in a YEAR. a YEAR, people!! (did i mention we’ve been married for a year? this is kind of weird. haha.) so here they are - finally. i’m so sorry it’s taken me so long to post these. i hope you enjoy them! it was so much fun getting to go through them again.

just a few details about our big day. we had a destination wedding in italy and it was FANTASTIC. as much as i obsess over wedding day details, i have no patience in actually creating them. so one of my major requirements when we were wedding planning was an amazing location. and honestly, what’s more amazing than italy? we had our ceremony in a former medici palace (yes, i said palace!), and our reception was at all’antico ristoro di cambi. it was absolutely perfect for us, and i wouldn’t have done it any other way.

for our photographer we hired the uber-fantabulous lelia scarfiotti. she was the best, and we couldn’t have asked for anyone more awesome! she was the easiest decision we had to make about the whole wedding. i hope all of our clients like us as much as we love lelia!

well tony and i are off to enjoy some quality us time. emails may be a little slow, but we’re sure you understand.
