welcome to our fancy-schmancy, new-fangled blogsite. what? a blog that's a site? a site that's a blog?! what is this madness?! that's right, this is your one-stop shopping for everything that is the awesomely cool husband & wife wedding photography duo of gina&tony.
some things you should probably know about us - we love weddings! and we especially love when people hire us to take photos at their weddings. we also love babies, families, and pets. (especially pets!) so we'll take photos of that too. we're based in the chicagoland area, but we will travel anywhere. our favorite locales include milwaukee, st. louis, southwest michigan, and fiji.
feel free to poke around. make sure you leave lots of comments on those blog posts! and if you're getting married - make sure you click on that contact link and get all the awesome details about hiring yours truly!
ok guys, i know you all think i’m some super, happy, peppy, perky person because i’m ALWAYS excited when i write blog posts. the truth is, there are few things that i get THIS excited about. the other things include vacations (even other people’s… lol), caesar, football, and really cheesy sci fi shows. but know that i’m not lying, and am truly ecstatic, to share this engagement session with you.
why? because ashley&scott came our way from the FANTASTIC tina&charlie. in fact – ashley was tina’s maid of honor. i was so excited when i got her email.for their engagement session, we went out to the milton lee olive park by navy pier. it has one of the most killer chicago skyline shots of all time. then we headed back through streeterville to their favorite bar, timothy o’toole’s. and there may or may not have been a chipotle stop in there somewhere.i’ll let you wonder about that one.
ok, maybe just our website. we just recently figured out that the contact form on our website has been broken for approximately a week. i know! MAJOR sad face. so, if you’ve tried to send us a little note recently using that form, we didn’t get it.
but the problem has been fixed! if you still are seeing the old form on the website, you’ll need to clear your browser cache and refresh the website. OR you can go directly to our new contact form.
we’re super sorry about all that. if you’ve emailed us and haven’t received a response, please resubmit your information using our new contact form. thanks!
yay for new places! don’t you just love when you discover a whole new part of a place you’ve been before? we’ve been around the lincoln park zoo dozens of times, but this is the first time we’ve shot in and around the farm-in-the-zoo. AND the first time we’ve shot around old town. it was fabulous.
and speaking of fabulous – LOOK at these two. jamie&tim are secret models. but don’t bother asking them, because they’ll just deny it. (but i KNOW these things.) they’re one of those brave couples that are planning a winter wedding in chicago, and i could not be more pumped for it. it’s going to be gorgeous! and if the engagement photos are any indication – these two will be too.
i won’t lie – it always makes me slightly nervous when we don’t get to meet with our couples before the wedding. annie&evan live in san diego, so while we had chatted with them via email and phone calls, we never actually met them face to face! luckily, all my worrying was for naught. these two couldn’t have been more awesome if they tried! annie is a super fabulous chick with a killer sense of style and the world’s BEST smile. (seriously. she lights up the room. even the sun is jealous.) and then there’s evan, who should start moonlighting as a stand up comic. this guy gave the world’s best thank you speech at their reception. i was laughing, i was crying, i was crying because i was laughing so hard, and then laughing because i was crying!
and to top off the list of why these two are great, they remained calm, cool, and collected no matter what the day threw their way! they had an awesome bridal party who waived down both a skateboarder AND a ferrari during the photos. and let’s not forget the time their groomsmen had a dance-off with another bridal party. annie’s sister’s surprised everyone by bringing in a nacho cart after dinner. because as annie will emphatically tell anyone who will listen – nachos are the greatest snack food in existence.
to annie&evan – i’m still pretty convinced that we need to move to san diego and be best friends. you guys really are the perfect couple, and we had such a great time at the wedding!
and on a completely different note, the best piece of advice anyone ever gave me before my wedding was that something will always go wrong. and it’s all about being able to take that moment when it comes and just let it go. for most weddings, this amounts to someone running late, or a bad weather forecast. for annie&evan, it came in the form of a medical emergency. i think we can speak for everyone there when we say we’re so glad that father bob is ok!
leave annie&evan a blog comment! 25 blog comments gets them a free 8×10!
